Overview
The I-O 5435e
is a single port, multi-protocol print server that provides support for
IPDS (Intelligent Printer Data Stream)
and AFP (Advanced Function Printing) using IBM's over Ethernet
networks from an IBM i5, AS/400 - iSeries or Mainframe - zSeries Host.
If you need IPDS and IBM Host connectivity for a printer that DOES NOT
have a Parallel Port or need to connect more than 1 printer
or MFP, or please click on the following links for other I-O
Corporation IPDS connectivity solutions:
Features
-
Connects one PCL 5e compatible parallel laser printer
-
Supports Advanced Function Printing (AFP) using IPDS protocol
-
Also supports standard Host printing using SCS protocol
-
Supports over 100 AFP/IPDS Fonts
-
10 / 100 Mbps Ethernet LAN, auto sensing
-
Multiple Host support (Power9, Power8 and all iSeries AS/400, and z14, z13 and all zSeries S/390)
-
Multiple LAN protocols (TCP/IP, SNA, ANYNET)
-
Host printing via
TCP/IP Telnet (TN5250e
and TN3270e), SNA (APPC) or AnyNet
-
Simple, one step set-up (auto configuration) when using TN5250e or
TN3270e
-
Host controlled printing, including error reporting, page range
printing etc.
-
I-O's award winning IBM AFP/IPDS and SCS printer emulations
-
EBCDIC to ASCII conversion done by the
5435e, frees host
resources and increases print speeds
The unique design of the I-O AFP/IPDS Print Server allows a single PCL 5e
laser printer to appear to the host as two separate type printers (IPDS and
SCS) at the same time. Multi-host capabilities allow up to ten IBM hosts to
send SCS printing to a single printer.
In today?s expanding LAN environment, I-O?s easy-to-use PrintControlTM
utility supports multiple I-O Print Servers. This powerful utility makes
initial set up, administration, and updates a painless and simple task
