Overview

The new YEStation Mini family of thin clients just raised the bar for performance, while lowering the desktop space requirement. Built around an Intel?-compatible SIS 550 processor that can run either Windows? CE.NET, Linux or XPe operating systems.

The YEStation Mini has a very small footprint - only 7.75" by 6" by 1.5" - and can be mounted vertically on a wall or attached to a monitor. The unit weighs only 1.5 pounds allowing for optimal mounting options, and low shipping costs.

The YEStation Mini Model 2242 provides a complete Terminal Emulation Suite including TN5250e, TN3270e, as well as others such as SCO-UNIX, ANSI, and various Wyse Terminal Emulations. ICA and RDP clients for connections to Windows Terminal Services and Citrix servers as well as an embedded Internet Explorer browser for access to Web-enabled applications, including email.

This 122-key keyboard provides a seamless transition from Twinax "dumb terminals" from IBM, CLI, Decision Data, Idea, Memorex, Praim and any other Twinax Terminal.

When moving from the 122-key layout to a standard PC keyboard, there are up to 36 new key combinations to be learned to perform the same tasks performed with a single keystroke on the Twinax terminal.  This lack of familiarity can produce a big loss in production and excess errors that would not be occurring if the user had their old, familiar keyboard.

With the Affirmative YEStation 2242 and 122-key keyboard, there is virtually no retraining when moving users from the old Twinax terminals to this now Ethernet connected terminal. 

The only difference to the user is that their terminal is now connected over Ethernet instead of Twinax.  They will have the same layout and heavy duty keystroke feel as on the terminals being replaced.  No need to learn the new key combinations a standard PC keyboard would require.
